Hydroxypropyl Alpha Cyclodextrin

Hydroxypropyl alpha cyclodextrin is white or almost white powder, odorless, slightly sweet, freely soluble in water,soluble in methanol and ethanol,almost insoluble in acetone and trichloromethane.

This product utilizes alpha-cyclodextrin as the starting material, undergoing a one-step hydroxyalkylation reaction with propylene oxide under alkaline conditions to obtain the crude liquid product. The crude liquid product is then decolorized using medicinal carbon, followed by a single ultrafiltration step to eliminate macromolecular impurities, nanofiltration for separation, purification, and concentration, pH adjustment, and a secondary ultrafiltration step to remove bacteria. Ultimately, the product is spray-dried to yield the final dry powder. There are no specific reaction conditions required during the synthesis process.
