Characteristic
Carboxymethyl beta Cyclodextrin (carboxymethyl- β- Cyclodextrin) has low solubility in low pH solutions, but can be dissolved in neutral and alkaline solutions (pH>4) at any concentration, and its structure is loose, and its self mobility is greatly improved. It has good solubility in the environment of human intestinal pH 6-7, and can be used as drug prolonging release agent. It has lower hemolysis than hydroxypropyl beta Cyclodextrin.
Application
As chiral selectivity (or mobile phase chiral additive), it is used for the analysis of chiral compounds by high performance liquid chromatography or high performance capillary electrophoresis. It can be mainly applied to the resolution of chiral drugs such as Paroxetine and its intermediates, Barbital, steroids, quinolones and some amino acids.
