Hydroxypropyl-gamma-cyclodextrin (HPγCD) is a modified cyclodextrin derivative. It is obtained by introducing hydroxypropyl groups onto the gamma-cyclodextrin molecule. Structurally, HPγCD is similar to hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin(HPβCD) and hydroxypropyl-alpha-cyclodextrin (HPαCD), but typically contains eight glucose units in its cyclic structure.And it can interact with larger molecules. It is a very useful chemical for Supramolecular chemistry.
